If you want to improve your skiing or snowboarding, meet lots of like-minded people, get involved with one of the Uni’s largest clubs and have some of the best times of your uni life, the SUSSC race team is where you will find it! If you’re an experienced racer or have never tried racing before, we want you to get involved! As long as you can link parallel turns (just link turns for snowboarders), give it a go!

We have race training every Tuesday at Southampton Alpine centre which is taken by highly qualified race coaches and instructors. It doesn’t take long to improve your technique and you’ll be ripping race courses like Bode Miller* in no time at all.

SUSSC attends all loads of uni competitions throughout the year. This includes the British Universities Dryslope Championships (BUDS), which is an awesome long weekend where we trek it up to Edinburgh to compete and enjoy the BUDS festivities in the city. SUSSC also competes in BUISC which is a series of races at indoor snow centres around the UK. There is also the BUSC Main Event which takes place for a week in the French Alps at Easter where we compete in both racing and freestyle.

We also compete in a series called Kings, which take place at Brentwood dry ski slope and where there is a great balance between awesome racing and absolute carnage!  Kings is a dual slalom event involving a team relay race, which takes place head to head with another uni! Last year SUSSC won both the regional and national titles, and we hope to keep up this form next year!
